Bake Off Week 01: Cake
Fans of cake, passionate about biscuits, lovers of pastry, we here at Caulder Moore love a good bake. So it only made sense to bake along with the guys in the tent! Each week one of the team will be baking, each bake scored on taste, looks and level of difficulty. The winner at the end will win the coveted golden spoon... with their face on it of course!
To start the competition off we had Kathryn and her delicious Lemon Drizzle loaf! So delicious was Kathryn's loaf cake the 'cake shot' was limited to a lil' slice, as you may have gathered the team at Caulder Moore taking 11'sies very seriously indeed. Score is tbc, but an excellent start to this years bake off!
Check back next week on Monday where we have Cherry doing next weeks bake - biscuits!
Bake Off Week 02: Biscuits
Week 2 was none other than biscuit week, and boy did the biscuits come to Caulder Moore!
Cherry was tasked with biscuit week and made not just one, but THREE different kinds of biscuits! We had delicious white and milk chocolate pinwheels , salted caramel shortbreads and orange biscuits **drools**.
Just to give an indicator of the deliciousness of the biscuits- the photos above had to be taken before they were unleashed on the studio.. when it comes to biscuit eating the team does not mess around.
Check back later in the week where we will be posting the scores, and see who is one step closer to being the recipient of the golden spoon (/eternal Caulder Moore bake off glory... or at least until next year!)
Bake Off Week 03: Bread
Rebecca was tasked with bread week and made us a tasty pesto braid. It'd be a perfect accompaniment teared and dipped into soup but this guy got devoured way before lunch on its own. Paul would definitely approve.
Check back next week on Monday where we have Lauren doing next weeks 'bake' - batter!
Bake Off Week 04: Batter
This week our lovely Lauren stepped up to the baking tray and took on batter week! And boy did those Yorkshire puddings rise to the occasion! (yep we went there) - what could have been a potentially challenging week Lauren aced with her Veggie Chill filled Yorkshire puddings- the competition is truly hotting up!
Check back next week for week 5 - Pastries!
Bake off Week 5 - Pastry
This week it was Maria's turn to whip up a delicous treat - but - as you may have noticed, no pictures.
Not because Maria's spectauclar tart is publicity shy, more because by the time I got to the kitchen to take the snaps it was all gobbled away... what can I say they are like moths to a feta tart flame...
Check back next week for the long anticipated Botanicals week!
