Bake off Week 6 - Botanicals

This week it was about all things floral, citrus and herby! The brave Katie was tasked with the bakes for the week, in which she made petal iced cupcakes (with rose water icing) and lavender and honey macarons!

They were as lovely to look at as they were to eat, and what are for most people (aka me) very tricky flavour combos to pull off she did with ease - who knew lavender and honey - such a fab combination!

Check back next week for our seventh instalment, Dessert week!

Bake off Week 7 - Desserts

This week was all about the desserts, and up for the challenge was Laurence will his chocolate hazelnut swiss rolls. Topped off with hot chocolate sauce these bad boys were devoured within minutes!

Check back next week for ye olde Tudor week!

Bake off Week 8 - Tudor week

Ye baketh offe this week hath taketh a decidedly Tudor turn (okay I will stop now)- with Charlotte braving the very, very retro theme.

Going back to the classics, Charlotte baked a delicious apple pie, perfect for the ever seemingly cooling weather. With only two weeks left, the office is slightly panicking at the thought of no baked goods on a Monday...

Check back next week for our penultimate bake - Patisserie week!

Bake off Week 9 - Pâtisserie

The last week before the final *sniffles* is upon us - but luckily we have delicious pâtisserie goodness to drown our sugary sorrows. Filling our baked goods fix is Georgie with her Madeleines - made with a hint of orange blossom because "thats what the Guardian's 'How to make a perfect Madeleine' said was good"

And they were very good!

Check back next week for the final week - and see who will be crowned Caulder Moore bake off champion!

Week 10 & 11 - The Final!

The final week of bake off may have been upon us, but we weren't ready to say goodbye to this years bake off so we strung it out for 2 weeks! Providing the baked deliciousness for each was Laura and Daniella.

Laura may well have saved us the best for last with her amazing (and slightly scary) sausage rolls with little peppercorn eyes and pork crackling tails. Laura also made some veggie ones for the leafier inclined members of Caulder Moore (equally as delicious!)

Daniella followed the week after with her fabulous array of tarts - Lemon meringue, Strawberry and Hibiscus and Passion fruit and Vanilla. All and explosion of amazing flavours and meringue goodness.

Our Bake off Winner 2016!

After 11 weeks of sugar highs, stress baked-goods induced train commutes and a few lbs gained bake off 2016 is over....

Whilst we 99% did it for the delicious baked goods - we have also been marking each other every week, so that at the end we have the official Caulder Moore bake off champion 2016!

And the winner is *drumroll*.....

Katie with Botanicals week!

She wowed us with her flavours, skill and technique - as well as shear number of the photogenic baked goods she fed us back in week 6. The winning bakes, lavender and honey macarons and rose water infused cupcakes were throughly enjoyed - congrats Katie!
