Today is mothers day, a day that was initially meant to be the one day a year where mothers would relax and the children would cook and clean. Today we get away with a far more consumeristic approach, whether it be sending a card, flowers or chocolates to show how much we love and appreciate our mum for everything she's done. Here are 4 of our favourite campaigns that use humour or are simply a bit different, rebelling against the stereotypically soppy messaging.
Carlsberg If Carlsberg did #yourmum
Carlsberg takes on a more positive tone on the generic "your mum" banter. Their tongue in cheek campaign encourages people to send in their own positive "your mum" quips, which are then re-enacted and shared by Carlsberg.

Fortnum & Mason created a beautiful and luxurious GIF showing off their content in it's wide-ranging hamper 'Fit for a Queen'.

J Crew have created in-store events, hosting tea parties where Mothers and their children can spend time having a cup of tea. It provides a gift with every purchase and a few 'special surprises', we're intrigued.

Most of us have received funny texts from our mum, whether it be the misuse of 'lol' or finally getting to grips and thinking she's down with the kids. This campaign from Samsung shows the many ways our mothers may be doing it all wrong in a fun and loveable way.
