Pop up of the week - New old Exhibition

At the London Design Museum there’s currently a pop up exhibition about the new old.

The exhibition is about showing that design for the older people doesn’t need to be boring. The exhibition covers broad spectrum of innovations, such as a smart furniture that will follow you around and a wearable device that activates an alarm if you fall. Some are already in production, while others are speculative future-looking scenarios.

The world is growing old fast, with more people in Europe over 60 than under 16. The “new old” are tech savvy, active in society and stay in the workplace for longer, they know more about design and are demanding more, therefore products and services need to catch up.

The pop up exhibition is at Design museum until the 19th of February and is free to enter.
