intriguing new store concepts that fuse retail, hospitality and fun

Country cool brand Fairfax and Favor are hugely successful online, enjoying great customer loyalty. But they increasingly felt that omni-channel would build deeper emotional connections with their brand community: they needed physical stores.

This new retail concept enables customers to explore, touch and try the product.  But – even more importantly – they are places to be invited and welcomed; to linger longer and socialise in the Fairfax and Favor brand world.

Fairfax & Favor, Helmsley

Blending practical retail solutions for a large selection of shoes with comfortable inviting hospitality into small stores was a design challenge. Seemingly generous spaces using every nook and corner allow for seating, dwelling and lounging. Interior features such as stables and fireplaces reference the brand’s country house aesthetic. Robust materials reinforce the product durability and timelessness.

Building on the principles established in the pilot store in Stamford, and the ethos of layering in site specific elements to each location to create an individual sense of place, we explored local inspirations to ensure that all the sites possessed new and surprising discoveries for their loyal customers.

Local touches such as Yorkshire stone table bases, and materials related to the outdoor pursuits which characterise the attraction of the surrounding countryside. From hidden doors in bookcases to secret gardens and portholes into the riverside, the Fairfax and Favor world creates a sense of intrigue and interest in every store.
